Idente young people: Christmas in the Ecuadorian Andes

Last December 15, 16 and 17, Idente young people shared their lives in communities in the province of Cotopaxi (Ecuador).

Young people between 15 and 21 years old participated in the evangelizing mission promoted by the idente missionaries in the city of Quito. Three weeks in advance, institutions such as the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja and the School Pérez Pallares carried out a campaign to collect food and gifts for more than 400 people from the communities of Huayrapungo, Santa Rosa de Chilcaloma, Candela Fasso and Pacta Pungo, in the Pujilí canton, Cotopaxi province.

With youthful enthusiasm and the desire to give the truly valuable to others, to Christ himself through conversations in homes, games and long walks, the young people abandoned themselves and went out for a deep encounter with others.

With the deep with to motivate in the inhabitants the preparation of their heart for the birth of Child Jesus, and looking at the example of the little house of Nazareth and to give the greatest of riches to those around them, the simplicity and the willingness to collaborate.

We thank all the volunteers and the generous hearts that accompanied us with their prayers and those who did their bit to help us reach all the people, rescuing the true meaning of Christmas, and thus allowing the hope of Child Jesus be reborn in each heart.
